The Damon Runyon Physician-Scientist Training Award from the Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation seeks to facilitate the training of clinician-scientists interested in an academic research career. Applicants must be physician-scientists (MD or DO), have completed their residencies and clinical training, and be U.S. Specialty Board eligible prior to the award start date. Applicants must not have more than three years of postdoctoral research laboratory experience. The funding provided by this Award starts at 100,000 USD/year for a period of 4 years. This award does not cover indirect costs or institutional overheads. In addition, the Foundation will retire up to $100,000 of any medical school debt still owed by an award recipient. This is an annual award and the next applications close on December 1, 2022.
