The Early Career Fellows Program from Arab Council for the Social Sciences (ACSS) and Carnegie Corporation is designed to assist Early Career Researchers (ECRs) in advancing their research and publishing endeavours, fostering integration into Arab research networks, and developing a research career within the Arab region.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Applicants must be citizens or nationals of an Arab country.
  • Junior scholars, who are 0-3 years out of a PhD program in the social sciences, irrespective of where their PhD was obtained.
  • Applicants must exhibit academic excellence and potential demonstrated through a proposal based on their PhD dissertation, a publication plan, and a 3-year career plan.

Applicants must submit proof of support from a proposed mentor and institution in the Arab region, including a letter of endorsement from both the mentor and the hosting institution. The program offers a total stipend of 25,000 USD to 36,000 USD, depending on the cost of living in the proposed country of residence, for a period of 12 months. Travel funds are provided for affiliation outside the home country.
