The Erwin Schrödinger Fellowships from the Austrian Science Fund (FWF) support Austrian-trained PhD holders to continue their postdoctoral training abroad. The applicant must have completed their doctoral studies, published in international scientific journals, an invitation from the foreign research institution, and if a return phase is requested: confirmation from the Austrian research institution. The Fellowship provides up to 24 months of funding support (+12 months for the return phase) with a stipend of 35,600 EUR to 47,400 EUR per year (depending on the destination) and personnel costs of 75,890 EUR per year for the return phase and project-specific costs up to 12,000 EUR per year. Applications are assessed continuously and applicants are encouraged to submit at any time. Note that application processing time takes on average 4 months.
