Humanities Innovation Grants: Workforce Equity (humanities and social sciences | worldwide)

The Humanities Innovation Grants: Workforce Equity program is funded by the Modern Language Association‘s Paving the Way: For the Future of the Humanities fund. The Humanities Innovation Grants support projects and initiatives that research, develop, implement, and sustain good practices for workforce fairness and improved working conditions in language, literature, writing, and culture departments or programs, with particular attention to graduate students and non-tenure-track faculty members.

These awards are intended to support individual faculty members or small teams developing and promoting initiatives and best practices that improve working conditions and workforce equity within a department or program.

Applications are open to full- and part-time faculty members in adjunct, tenure-track, or tenured positions, as well as graduate student instructors, provided the applicant is either a current MLA member or is affiliated with a department that holds membership in MAPS (through ADE or ALD); only one of these two criteria needs to be met.

The funding provides 3,000 USD in direct project funding.

Applications close on September 30, 2026.
