Launchpad Grants in Hearing Research (UK)

The Launchpad Grants in Hearing Research grant from the Medical Research Foundation supports research that increases understanding of the auditory system, and the mechanisms underpinning auditory disorders. Insights from this research could enhance treatments and improve the lives of people with hearing problems. Applications can be made to support an Early Career Researcher in their first research position, a mid-career researcher to make the transition towards independence, or an established researcher to carry out a pilot study. Applications will be assessed relative to the career stage of the applicant. Applications are open to researchers in the UK and abroad. The research activity must be conducted at the University of Nottingham Hearing Science. Applicants must hold a PhD, DPhil or MD. PhD students who have not yet submitted their thesis but intend to do so by the end of October 2023. The University of Nottingham will not be providing salary support, any required salary should be costed into the proposal. The Medical Research Foundation will not usually cover the cost of visas but will consider this on a case-by-case basis. Applicants may apply for up to 100,000 GBP over 18 months.
