The L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science (South Africa) Program recognizes early career women researchers in South Africa in formal sciences, life sciences, environmental sciences, physical sciences, engineering and technological sciences. The program will recognize 3 research grants for doctoral students and 3 research for postdoctoral candidates. All candidates must be South African nationals. PhD students must be enrolled in at least the second year of their studies at a South African university. Postdoctoral candidates must be conducting research in a research laboratory or an institution in one of the 9 provinces. The program provides training in leadership, management, negotiation and communication. Doctoral students also receive 80,000 ZAR and postdoctoral candidates 160,000 ZAR.
