Share

The FEMS-Jensen Award from the Federation of European Microbiological Societies (FEMS) recognizes academic achievement and superior research accomplishment by early career microbiology scientists. U.K.-based microbiologist Dr John R. Norris CBE donated for this award in the honor of his tutor Dr Jensen, one of the 20th Century’s foremost scientists and teachers in the fields of soil microbes.

European students of microbiology at the final stages of their PhD studies, or those who have received their PhD-degree less than three years before the application deadline are eligible to apply. The award provides a fellowship for spending at least half a year in an outstanding research laboratory chosen by the student. The maximum award amounts to EUR 10,000. The application deadline closes on March 1, 2024, at 23:59 PM CET.
