Pilot Research Grant (radiology USA & Canada)
The Pilot Research Grant from the SIR Foundation supports new investigators in interventional radiology in the USA and Canada. The grant supports research proposals with a specific hypothesis and should lead to sufficient preliminary data that would enable the recipients to be competitive in national funding programs. Applicants must be within the first five years of their first full-time faculty appointment at an accredited educational institution in the United States or Canada. Applicants must hold an MD, DO, or Ph.D., or equivalent degree. Applicants who are not citizens or permanent residents of the USA or Canada require a letter of support from their host institution. The grant provides up to 35,000 USD in funding support for up to 1 year. The grant does not cover institutional overheads/indirect costs. The Foundation offers applicants opportunities for feedback on their proposals. The deadlines for the Proposal Development and the pre-review phase are June 30, 2022, and Oct. 15, 2022, respectively.
Applications close annually on January 15 and the next closing date is January 15, 2023.
