The Research For A Transparent Information Ecosystem initiative, supported by the European Media and Information Fund (EMIF), offers assistance for extensive and thorough scientific research into the phenomenon of disinformation. This research covers its origins, effects on society, and potential remedies, utilizing a multidisciplinary, evidence-based, and when applicable, international approach.

Only organisations in a consortium located in the EU, EFTA and UK are eligible. Eligible organizations to lead or participate in the consortium include:

  • Non-profit entities such as public service media
  • Universities and educational institutions
  • Research centers
  • Non-governmental organizations

Additionally, for-profit organizations serving as fact-checkers, news media outlets, technology providers, or research firms are also eligible to participate, provided that the consortium includes one or more of the aforementioned entities.

Funding of up to 400,000 EUR is available per project for a duration of 18 months.
