The Rhodes Scholarship is a fully funded, full-time, postgraduate award that enables talented young people from around the world to study at the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom. The Rhodes Scholarships for Syria, Jordan, Lebanon and Palestine (SJLP) offers two scholarships each year, in partnership with the Saïd Foundation for Syria, Jordan, Lebanon and Palestine.

Applicants must:

  • Syrian, Jordanian, Lebanese or Palestinian or be a legal permanent/temporary resident in Syria, Jordan, Lebanon or Palestine.
  • have been resident in or have received at least 5 years of education in Syria*, Jordan, Lebanon, the West Bank, Gaza or Israel
  • i. be aged 18-25 on 1st October 2024
    ii. be under the age of 27 on 1st October 2024 AND EITHER have completed the first undergraduate degree on or after 1 October 2023, OR the national context led to disruptions throughout the undergraduate education, thereby prolonging the time needed to complete the degree

The Rhodes Scholarship covers Oxford University course fees, as well as providing an annual stipend. Funding duration is dependent on the length of the course, e.g. PhD funding is available for 3 years.
