The Spinal Cord Injury and Disease (SCI/D) Research Fellowships from the Paralyzed Veterans of America aim to support innovative research focusing on spinal cord injury and disease (SCI/D). The foundation’s mission is to enhance the lives of individuals affected by SCI/D by funding projects directed towards finding better treatments, cures, and technological advancements associated with paralysis and its secondary health effects.

This fellowship provides support for postdoctoral scientists, clinicians, and engineers to encourage training and specialization in the field of spinal cord research.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Grantee institutions must be located in the United States or Canada.
  • Fellows are not required to be U.S. or Canadian citizens.
  • Post-doctoral scientists can apply within four years of receiving a Ph.D. or completing M.D. residency.
  • Graduate students can participate in Foundation-related research and receive payment but cannot apply for a Foundation grant as a fellow or principal investigator.

Fellowships will be funded up to 150,000 USD for 1-3 years.
