Clinician Scientist Development Grant (CSDG) for Cancer Research (USA)

The Clinician Scientist Development Grant (CSDG) from the American Cancer Society provides support for junior licensed clinicians to become clinician-scientists in academic cancer research. Recipients must be licensed to practice medicine in the USA, be US citizens or permanent residents, and are within 6 years of their initial faculty appointment. The Grant provides up to 135,000 USD/year over a period of 3-5 years, including 8% allowable indirect costs. Applications must be within the 6 research priority areas of the Society:

  • Etiology (Causes of Cancer)
  • Obesity/Healthy Eating and Active Living (HEAL)
  • Screening and Diagnosis
  • Treatment
  • Survivorship
  • Health Equity Across the Cancer Control Continuum

There are two assessment rounds per year, with closing dates on April 1 and October 15. The next applications close on October 15, 2023.
