Early Diagnostics Grants (ALS worldwide)

The Early Diagnostics Grants funded by the ALS Association support translation research worldwide on amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), specifically the identification of early diagnostic markers of ALS. Examples of approaches that might be supported by this request for proposals include, but are not limited to: 

  • Digital diagnostics, including video-based diagnostics 
  • Imaging diagnostics 
  • Electrodiagnostics 
  • Biosample-based diagnostics (fluid or tissue) 
  • Other diagnostic approaches (e.g., breath analysis, risk-factor analysis, cognitive/behavioral phenotyping, other modeling, etc.) 

Applications are open to researchers worldwide and applications from diverse and multidisciplinary research teams are particularly welcome. This funding provides up to $500,000 USD (including 15% indirect costs) for 3 years.

Applications are due on March 1, 2023.
