The Developing Countries in Tobacco Control and Smoking Cessation Award,  from the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC),supports trainees and residents of countries listed by World Bank as developing countries.

The applicants are required to submit a well-crafted abstract focusing on epidemiological data from their country or detailing educational or policy development efforts aimed at tobacco control.

Applicants must be members of IASLC. Individuals who are fellows, students, trainees, or post-doctoral researchers holding a professional degree and within three years of their initial faculty appointment (e.g., appointed to faculty after September 8, 2021) are eligible to apply. Previous recipients of this award are not eligible to apply.

This award includes:

  • Complimentary registration for the IASLC 2024 World Conference on Lung Cancer
  • Complimentary 1-year IASLC membership
  • Up to 4 nights of accommodation at a conference contracted hotel (booked by IASLC)
  • 1,000 USD to help offset travel costs

The applications are due on April 5, 2024, at 23:59 PDT.
