The Academic Transition Grant from the SIR Foundation supports radiology researchers in the USA or Canada who have recently begun academic careers after spending several years in non-academic practice. Applicants must be citizens or permanent residents of the USA or Canada and the research work must hold a doctoral title. Applicants need to be over the age of 40 years old and SIR members. In addition, applicants must be full-time faculty members at an accredited educational institution in the United States or Canada who have been in academia for five years or less and do not have any other research funding. The grant provides up to 35,000 USD in funding support for 1 year. The grant does not cover institutional overheads/indirect costs.
The Proposal Development Form deadline is June 30, 2023. Full applications close annually on January 15 and the next closing date is January 15, 2024.
