The Open Fund Individual Research Grant (OF-IRG) from the Ministry Of Health and the National Medical Research Council (NMRC) of Singapore supports research proposals in basic, translational and clinical research that are relevant to human health and potential, including research that looks at the causes, consequences, diagnosis and treatment of human diseases. The grant is open to applications from Singapore-based researchers in all health research areas. However, these are Singapore’s national priorities for research:

  • Cancers and neoplasms
  • Cardiovascular
  • Eye
  • Infection
  • Mental health
  • Metabolic and endocrine
  • Neurological

The maximum grant amount is 1.625 million SGD (inclusive of up to 30% indirect costs) for up to 5 years. The grant has two calls per year, in January and in July.

The next applications close on July 29, 2024.
