The Program Project Award (PPA) from the Foundation Fighting Blindness supports team research efforts to better understand retinal diseases. The PPA enables studies that are too large or technically complex for a single investigator to undertake in a reasonable amount of time and to address current knowledge and/or therapeutic gaps. The effort is unified around a single, well-articulated research hypothesis and clearly defined milestones. Multidisciplinary research teams are highly encouraged. Principal Investigators must hold an M.D., D.M.D., D.V.M., D.O., Ph.D. or recognized foreign equivalent and occupy a faculty position or equivalent position at a college, university, medical school, or other public or private research institution/facility. Applications are open to researchers in the USA and worldwide. Applicants may apply for up to 500,000 USD per year over 5 years (no indirect costs).

The next letters of intent are due on October 12, 2023 and invited full applications are due on February 27, 2024.
