The Rhodes Scholarship is a fully funded, full-time, postgraduate award that enables talented young people from around the world to study at the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom. The Rhodes Scholarships for Zambia offers two scholarships each year.

Applicants must:

  • be citizens or permanent residents of Zambia
  • have been residents of Zambia, for a minimum of 4 of the last 10 years, and have either: i. completed secondary education in Zambia; or ii. be in the final year of, or have completed an undergraduate degree at a university in Zambia
  • must meet either of the below criteria:
    i. be aged 18-25 on 1 October 2024 OR (for older candidates who completed their first undergraduate degree later than usual)
    ii. be under the age of 27 on 1st October 2025 AND you must also have completed your first undergraduate degree on or after 1 July 2023*.

The Rhodes Scholarship covers Oxford University course fees, as well as providing an annual stipend. Funding duration is dependent on the length of the course, e.g. PhD funding is available for 3 years.
